Gig Round-Up: Silvershores - 13th Jan @ The Flapper

SilvershoresFriday 13th January - The Sharp Darts played at The Flapper in Birmingham along with up and comers Towns, Silvershores and acoustic hero Tim Fletcher. In this post we let you know all about Silvershores.

Following on from Tim Fletcher, the night turned into a more guitar-effects driven, shoegaze inspired affair.

Starting it off were Silvershores, who's guitar sounds had Bren and I talking with some very well honed effects.

The general setup of the band was a wall of beautiful guitar noise held together by the Stone Roses inspired basslines of  Al Holloway, who was looking the business and center stage.

2012 is Live!

The Sharp Darts Live!As you may or may not be aware, The Sharp Darts are kicking off 2012 with their first gig of the year this Friday 13th at The Flapper.

We'll be playing with TOWNS, who have recently had a mention in NME, Silvershores and the excellent Tim Fletcher, who you may know from the gig we played over in Wolverhampton at the end of last year. He's very good and will be starting the night, so get there early! [Details here]

We've been busy in the practice room over the last few weeks and have new music to bring to your ears, not quite sure whether we'll have a new one ready for Friday, but we'll try our best!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from The Sharp Darts!Happy New Year from The Sharp Darts!

With 2011 done and dusted, it's time to take a quick moment of reflection and let you know what The Sharp Darts will be up to in 2012.

We've been quite happy with what 2011 brought for us. We made it to the final of the International Surface Festival, released our debut EP "Shoes Off", supported the chart topping Canadian band The Trews and played loads of great shows both ful band and acoustic.

The highlight of our live performances for us has to be the main stage O2 Academy gig in Birmingham, that's one we'll remember for a long time, great atmosphere, great crowd, great venue!

Merry Christmas! (Free Music)

We just wanted to say a massive thank you for your support this year! We've had a great time releasing our debut EP "Shoes Off", getting through Surface to the final and playing some great shows including supporting Canadian chart toppers The Trews.

You've been awesome throughout and your support is really appreciated! As such we're making our "Shoes Off" EP free to download on SoundCloud over the Christmas Weekend. So get in there and get downloading!
