Friday 13th January - The Sharp Darts played at The Flapper in Birmingham along with up and comers Towns, Silvershores and acoustic hero Tim Fletcher. In this post we let you know all about Tim.
First up was Tim Fletcher, a solo acoustic singer/songwriter. You'd be forgiven for thinking that he's never seen anyone else play guitar before, some of the things he does to his acoustic are out of this world. He plays with both hands on the fretboard, under and over as he slaps and pops his way around the guitar body, all while singing and barely looking at his guitar.

On top of the world by all accounts, Towns made their way to Birmingham with the news that Xfm had played their single, always a bonus! A few round of bacon sandwiches later, Towns were on their way to the first day of their tour in sunny Birmingham.
We'd had a good listen to these lads beforehand and were keen to see what they were like. On tour and getting noticed by the likes of NME, there was definitely something going on here worth listening to.

Following on from Tim Fletcher, the night turned into a more guitar-effects driven, shoegaze inspired affair.
Starting it off were Silvershores, who's guitar sounds had Bren and I talking with some very well honed effects.
The general setup of the band was a wall of beautiful guitar noise held together by the Stone Roses inspired basslines of Al Holloway, who was looking the business and center stage.
