Surface Festival Regional Showcase - This Sunday!

The Sharp Darts @ O2 Academy for Surface Festival 2011 Regional Showcase!As I'm sure you're aware, we are going to be playing main stage O2 Academy Birmingham this Sunday 28th August for the regional final of Surface Festival. We can't wait! We've been running a series on our competitors for the event. Check out Surface: The Competition parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 for more info.

In this post I'm going to give a quick summary of the other bands involved and tell you about the goodies we'll have for you on the day. I just want to take the opportunity first to congratulate all of the bands that have made it this far, making it through three rounds past over a hundred other bands is quite an achievement. Good luck to you all in the final, may the best band (best five bands) win!

We'll be using this showcase gig as an opportunity to release our first EP "Shoes Off", we'll be posting up plenty of information about it on the site over the next couple of days and also launching a mini-site with a preview of the album, links to buy and free bonus content, whether you've bought it or not. We'll be adding to that over the next month with live acoustic videos and other extras.

We've also invested reasonably heavily in some promo material in the shape of flyers, stickers and badges and alongside CDs of our EP, we'll have a batch of T-Shirts for you to buy at our merch stand, that are available in mens and ladies, small medium and large.

Also competing with us on Sunday are the bands below, listed in order of the semi final events that they took part in. I've put next to each name in brackets the number of text votes they have received so far so you have some idea of where we shape up and how many votes we need to get us where we need to be (in the top 5). As a reminder, text voting will make up 25% of the vote, witht eh remaining 75% being made up of three judges votes (25% each). There will be no audience or any other type of vote for this event, so your text vote really counts!

As you can see we're in 11th place as far as text votes at the moment, with 7th place within 50 votes. We need all the help we can get to get as high up the list as possible, the higher we go, the more points we get on the night and the less we'll need from the judges!

It's gonna be a great show on Sunday, your tickets are valid from doors opening at 12:30 so get down and enjoy a full day of music! We'll be playing somewhere between 5pm and 10pm, but we don't find out exactly what time until on the day. We'll be around from around 3pm when the session two bands turn up, when we'll be setting up our merch stand then, so come and grab a CD and a T-Shirt!
